Halves
When a whole is split into 2 equal parts, each part is one-half. We write it as 1/2.
🍕 → 🍕🍕 (cut in 2) one half = 1/2
💡 Halves must be the SAME size, not just any 2 parts.

Quarters
When a whole is split into 4 equal parts, each part is one-quarter. We write it as 1/4.
🍕 → cut in 4 = 4 quarters one quarter = 1/4

Half of a number
Half of 6 is 3. Share equally between 2 friends. 6 ÷ 2 = 3.
