Length, Mass and Capacity

Length tells us how long or short something is. We can use a ruler in centimetres (cm).

💡 Tall things are also measured by length (we call it height).

Mass tells us how heavy something is. We weigh in kilograms (kg) or grams (g).

💡 An elephant is heavier than a mouse.

Capacity tells us how much liquid a container can hold. We measure in litres (L) or millilitres (ml).

💡 A bucket holds more water than a cup.

Use words like longer/shorter, heavier/lighter, holds more/less when you compare.
