Pronouns
Words that replace a noun: he, she, it, they, we, you.
Sam → he · Sara → she

Adverbs
Adverbs describe verbs — they tell HOW something happens. Often end in -ly.
She runs quickly · He sang softly

Past tense
Add -ed for most verbs. But many are irregular: go → went, eat → ate.
play → played go → went

Subject & verb
Every sentence needs a SUBJECT (who/what) and a VERB (does what).
